Peer Review Process
The decision to publish a paper is based on editorial judgment and peer review. Initially, all papers are assessed by an editorial committee consisting of members of the editorial team. Its main purpose is to decide whether to submit a paper for peer review and to provide a quick decision on papers that do not. Such rejection is based on its novelty or relevance to the scope of this journal.
Initial Editorial Assessment
Hafidz Journal of Nursing Studies (HJNS) wishes to provide a fast publication process through an initial assessment carried out by an editorial committee consisting of members of the editorial team. The main goal is to decide whether to submit a paper for peer review or reject it. The main points are scope, compliance with guidelines, and language. Sometimes a paper will be returned to the author with a revision request for the purpose of assisting the editor in deciding whether or not to submit it for review. Authors may expect an Initial Editorial Rating decision from this stage of the review process within 1-2 weeks of submission.
Review Process
After passing the Initial Editorial Assessment, the article will be sent to peer reviewers. The peer-review process involves at least two reviewers for each manuscript who are selected based on their expertise. The entire review process is carried out in a double-masked review, meaning that the author and peer-reviewer do not know each other's identities. Reviewers must complete the review within three weeks of each review round after the review request is submitted.
Decision-making process
The decision to accept publication is based on peer reviewer recommendations, based on which two acceptance recommendations are required. If there are differences in the recommendations of the two reviewers, the editor has the right to request the consideration of a third reviewer. The editor-in-chief makes the final decision to publish, editorial committee (national or international advisory board) takes into account the suggestions of reviewers.
